Design For Dance

For two weeks during my time in a Practicum for Wardrobe Technician at the Banff Centre. Each technician had a designer designing costumes for Alberta Ballet dancers under guidance from instructors. For us Wardrobe Technicians, we worked on creating their designs within tight time limits.

In the end of the two weeks, we created two fully finished designs and one half finished project (one in black and beige and the other in orange and pink). The two ensembles I completed consisted of a bodysuit with built in circle skirts of tulle, binding and nude insert. There was then an over dress that was draped by creating twisting and knotting of fabric strips. Which were then sewn to clear elasic at the waist and other stress points.
